Travel Health
When planning a holiday, business trip or a job overseas it is important to also consider your health needs.
Please try to contact the practice at least 12 weeks before you travel and fill in a Pre Travel Assessment Form. Travel vaccines and an assessment of your health needs have to be planned in advance and travel health appointments arranged prior to travel.
Leaving it to the last minute may mean that there are no available appointments and that there is not enough time for vaccines to give full protection before you travel. Sometimes vaccines require a course of injections over several weeks or months.
At a travel health appointment you will also be given advice about health risks and precautions for your journey and destination and, if you require anti malarial tablets (this will be fully discussed with you).
Remember that for most destinations outside of Europe and North America vaccines are recommended so if you are intending to book a last minute holiday to a specific region it is advisable to contact the practice in advance and complete a Pre Travel Assessment Form or download the Pre Travel Assessment Form.

Repeat prescriptions take 48 hours (working days) from receipt to process. Some chemists offer a collection and delivery service.
If you would like a chemist to collect, dispense and deliver your prescription this will take longer.
Please contact the chemist of your choice for further details about dispensing and delivery timescales.
