INVESTIGATIONS & RESULTS
Any tests will be dealt with promptly and you will be advised of the usual length of time before you can expect results. Any necessary treatment resulting from such tests will be made available at the earliest opportunity.
Your responsibility to us is:
- If you are asked to telephone for results, please call after 1pm.
Results can only be given to the patient concerned, not a person ringing on their behalf.
NURSING SERVICE
Our practice nurses are available by appointment and for telephone advice each weekday. They are happy to give advice on family planning and health education.
The district nursing service is a team of nurses providing 24-hour delivery of care to our patients. They care for patients in their own homes, residential and nursing homes and local day care centres. All housebound patients and patients recently discharged from hospital can be referred to this service.
Our community midwives hold antenatal clinics and parent craft classes. They attend to mothers and babies in their own homes for up to four weeks after delivery.
NURSE PRACTITIONER SERVICE
Nurse Practitioners have specialist skills and can prescribe. They have access to a doctor to support them in their role should it be necessary.
The Nurse Practitioner does not see babies under one year, with the exception of specific minor illness such as conjunctivitis or nappy rash.
REFERRALS
From time to time it may be necessary to refer patients to a consultant for further care. We will do our utmost to ensure referral letters are sent promptly.
